Maple peas, also known as pea sprouts or dou miao, is characterised by long pale stems and small green leaves, and are considered a delicacy in Asian cuisine. Perfect in stir-fries, salads and as a garnish, maple pea shoots boast a sweet and delicate flavour.
Maple Peas are full of vitamins including vitamin A, C, K and the full B complex, essential to all the body’s vital functions – metabolism, digestion and proper synthesis of nutrients. Containing a wide variety of amino acids, maple peas are a great source of protein.
Reduce growing period by soaking maple pea seeds in water for 8-10 hours before sowing, harvest in 7-10 days. Good for 2-4 harvests.
